DIRECTIONS and PARKING:

Located on the campus of Vernon College, the physical address is 4600 College Drive, Vernon, TX 76384.

If exiting from 287 the Museum drive entrance will be the third entrance on the right after passing the Braum's Restaurant. If you pass the North Texas State Hospital campus entrance you have gone too far!

Ample adjacent parking is available.

Information for Visitors in a Wheelchair

  • All of the Museum's exhibits are accessible by wheelchair.

  • All Museum restrooms are accessible to those with mobility disabilities or in wheelchairs.

  • Motorized scooters are allowed.

Courtesy Wheelchairs

The Red River Valley Museum has courtesy wheelchairs that may be borrowed on a first-come, first-served basis free of charge for use within the building. The wheelchairs, which are all manually operated, may not be taken outside of the Museum. Simply ask the docent at the front desk or call ahead, 940-553-1848.

Service Animals
Service animals specially trained to assist a person with a disability are welcome in the Museum. Due to the delicate nature of specimen in the Bond Gallery staff may request extra caution be taken when touring.

TOURS

Walk-in tours are welcome! Ask a docent or staff to take you on a guided tour or walk through the exhibits on your own.

SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS

  • Call 940-553-1848 at least 1 month in advance prior to the desired date.

  • School groups are admitted into the exhibit galleries at a rate of 30 students per 30 minutes. If the school group is larger than 30 students, the group will have divided admission times so please plan accordingly.

  • The Museum requires 1 adult per 15 students.

PRIVATE TOURS 

  • Schedule a private tour for your family, friends, scout group, etc!

  • With advanced notice we can create a tour focused on a certain topic within the museum and even set up a craft/activity!

VENUE RENTAL

  • Rent the Museum as a whole or just rent the exhibition room for your events!

  • Your welcome to bring your own refreshments, catering, decorations, etc.

  • Call us at 940-553-1848 for a quote.

EXHIBITS

The Red River Valley Museum is home to three permanent exhibits: The Berry Gallery, The Bond Big Game Gallery, and The Waggoner Gallery. Click the name of each gallery for additional information! The RRVM also has an exhibitions space to hold rotating exhibits as well as our permanent collection of art and sculptures.
